There are many products on the market that claim to help you get rid of bad breath and tonsil stones.
As you know, we absolutely recommend an electric toothbrush, flossing, tongue scraping and using mouthwash.
Electric Toothbrushes
Electric toothbrushes are much more efficient are removing plaque from teeth and they can significantly reduce gum disease and gingivitis. Tonsil stones are made up of mucus and food particles so getting rid of any food debris from your mouth and help prevent tonsil stones.
Mouth Wash
We ONLY recommend mouth washes that are alcohol-free. Alcohol simply dries your mouth out and makes bad breath worse. Mouth washes that taste strongly of mint are usually the ones that simply try and mask bad breath rather than eliminate it. Gargling with mouthwash can help dislodge any small stones that are ready to pop out but won’t be able to reach those tonsil stones hidden deep in the tonsils.
Flossers
There are many flossers to choose from, simply flossing tape right through to very expensive water flossers. We personally think that interdental brushes work the best, just make sure you use the correct size for the gaps in your teeth. As mentioned earlier, food debris contributes to formation of tonsil stones so get flossing!
Tongue Scrapers
What’s the point in having perfect teeth and gums when your tongue is covered with mucus, food debris and bacteria? Tonsil stones are made up of mucus and food debris so scrape your tongue gently each time you brush your teeth.
